Wednesday, January 5, 1966 Bill back to work
A beautiful day, sun shining this morning. The moon was
beautiful last night. After six weeks Bill went back to work today. He is still
a dite lame. Betty and Carmen came up. I washed the windows. Fern, Lloyd and
Kennard called. Billie and I down town. I washed, scrubbed and scoured the
separator.
Thursday, January 6, 1966
Cloudy, not too cold. I done up my work. Aunt Ava and Uncle
Lewis here all day and for supper. They enjoyed it and I did and Billie. Billie
to town and got groceries. Called to see Carmen. They got Betty’s phone in late
this p.m. but didn’t have time to hook it up. They will tomorrow. Bill kind of
lame and tired tonight.
Friday, January 7, 1966
Cloudy, 20°. I done up my work and made plans for my new
home. Billie and I called at Betty’s. Bill quite lame when he got home tonight.
He is discouraged. Betty got her new phone 647 – 2850. I’m so glad. Bill got
one days pay $14.23. Earland Allen’s funeral today.
Saturday, January 8, 1966
Not too cold, 20 above. Cloudy and began to storm today.
Billie, Betty, Carmen and I all went to Norway on payment business, trailer and
TV. Called at the Phil Hunt’s. Carmen fussy and tired. Came home to Bridgton,
got groceries, paid oil bill, got Bill’s pills. Called at Betty’s, came home,
had lunch. Talked with Betty, Carmen a dite wheezy but sleeping. Mike is over,
I’m glad. It was such a day and she was lonesome. Bill’s lameness better. Bill
got a birthday card from D.
