Tuesday, February 17, 1970 Betty 27 years today

A nice day. I done up my work. Went down to Betty’s. She went to town for me. Susan went too. Then came home, Kim came with me. I got a roast pork supper. Betty, her three, Susan and her one came up here for supper. Dorothea and Jeff came up. Dorothea brought her gifts. Betty got nice cards etc. Walt to school tonight. Worked on my scrapbook in p.m.

Wednesday, February 18, 1970 HAIR Rinse

20° above when we got up this morning. I done up my work, put a rinse on my hair. Went to Westbrook to Dorothea’s. Called only a minute. Kids have tonsillitis. Went out to see Walt. Betty had Walter IV pictures taken. Susan and Vince went too.

Thursday, February 19, 1970 Hair Set

I done regular work. Washed today, down to Betty’s to stay while she went to town. Susan went with her. In evening Carmen and I went over to June’s. I got my hair set and Carmen got a haircut.

Friday, February 20, 1970

I done regular work. I washed. Down to Betty’s for a while. Vince and I came home. Susan came back later to stay for supper. Then Susan, Vince and I went to town to do some shopping. She had such a good time.

Another nice day. It is cold. I waxed kitchen floor. Washed, washed windows, down to Betty’s a little while. Vince is so cute. Bill took me to town after supper. After he got home from town Billie went down to see Susan. I went with him. Bill called to see her when he brought Carmen from Brownies.

Saturday, February 14, 1970

A nice day. Billie down to see Lloyd Trueworthy and got some butter. Bill worked most all day. I baked beans, made a cake and rolls. Fern down to Betty’s for supper.

Sunday, February 15, 1970

Cloudy and snow. Bill worked all day. Susan and Vince came up and visited us. We was glad to have her.

Monday, February 16, 1970

A beautiful day. I did my washing. Walt home, a holiday for state workers. I cleaned up the house. I worked at my scraps in p.m.

February 9 - 12, 1970 Susan and Vince Come For a Visit

Monday, February 9, 1970 mild

A fair day, sunny and mild. I done up my work. Washed. Betty took me to town, bank and town office. Came home, we got Susan and Vince’s bedroom ready. Walt came home at noon sick. I watched TV programs in p.m. A fire in evening on Lower Main Street. Bill called to sand where they fought the fire.

I done up regular work, washed. Went down to Betty’s a little while. I sent Billie’s car insurance today. Robert went to the hospital. N.C.M. in Bridgton. He was very sick. Joy came today.

Wednesday, February 11, 1970

I cleaned my bedrooms, floors, windows, washed some curtains. Down to Betty’s a little while. I washed floors in living room and kitchen.

Thursday, February 12, 1970 Susan and Vince came

It cleared today. Sunny and not too cold. I went down to Betty’s while she went to town. I washed windows, living room rug, kitchen floor. Back down to Betty’s to babysit while they went to Logan Airport to meet Susan and Vince. So glad to see Susan and her baby or son.

February 5 - 8, 1970 Carmen's 7th Birthday

Thursday, February 5, 1970

I done up my work, went down to Betty’s to stay with kids while she went to town. Came home, got supper. Kimmy came with me for a visit. Worked on my scrapbook. Bill took Kim home. I sent Bill’s income tax today.

Friday, February 6, 1970 OIL

A partly cloudy day. I done up my work, went down and helped Betty get ready for Carmen’s party on Sunday. I did some ironing, worked on my scrapbook. In evening Betty took me to town and we called at Fern’s a minute. Carmen to Brownie meeting.

Saturday, February 7, 1970 very mild

A very nice mild day. Billie up early and gone smelting. Bill took a shower, went to the doctors. His foot or toe is okay. I made bread and rolls, to town, got Carmen’s cake and ice cream for tomorrow.

Sunday, February 8, 1970 Carmen

A beautiful day. I did my work. Went down and helped Betty to get ready for Carmen’s 7th birthday celebration (birthday was February 5) Betty had Italian sandwiches, cake, ice cream. Carmen got a lot of nice gifts. Fern, Lloyd, Aunt Ava, Dorothea, Dave, Jeff, Bill, Billie and me and their own family. Had a nice time. I stayed in evening to watch a couple TV programs in color. Susan called Betty, she is coming Thursday.

February 1 - 4, 1970 Tax Time

A nice mild day. I done up my work. Jean called see Bill. Bill and I down to Betty and Walt’s. I wanted to see what kind of time Carmen had yesterday. I wrote to Esther.

Monday, February 2, 1970

Partly cloudy, mild. Betty and I went to Norway and Paris this forenoon to shop for Carmen’s birthday. Fern and Lloyd to care of Kim and Zak. In evening Bill and Billie down to Mr. Boyd’s to have income tax fixed.

Tuesday, February 3, 1970 RAIN

Mild and rain. I worked at desk most all day. I washed, dried clothes inside. I sent Billie’s income tax today.

Wednesday, February 4, 1970

Bill had a real bad looking toe. He went to Dr. Gluck. It has infection. Billie went down and got Bill’s income tax from Mr. Boyd’s.
