Thursday, December 25, 1969 Christmas Day Back At Farm
It dawned clear and cold. Got up and got ready and went down
to Betty and Walt’s for Christmas. Back at the farm. It seems so good. We had
little difigglety with the turkey. I was plain stupid and didn’t get the turkey
precooked on top of the stove. It was awful.
It took about four hours opening up the nice Christmas
gifts. They were plentiful and elegant for all. We had a nice day with a very
late dinner. Fern, Lloyd, Aunt Ava. Betty, Walt, Carmen, Kim, Zak, David,
Dorothea, Jeffrey, Billie, Bill and me, Althea. It was so natural. Dot called
in late p.m. Dinner: turkey, gravy, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, turnip,
shell beans, onions, celery, relish dish, rolls, pumpkin bread, cranberry
sauce, cranberry juice, suet pudding, custard pie, apple pie, Christmas cake,
cookies, ice cream, fruit, grapes, and nuts.
