Monday, September 19, 1977 a hot day, St. Augustine Florida
A nice day except for about three rain showers. We got up early. A terrible hot night, the air-conditioner didn’t work. The room was in St. Augustine. We had breakfast on the corner of a busy street. A very nice breakfast. Then we went over to the oldest fort in the US where the (blank) was fought. Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. Then we toured the oldest part of the city (St. Augustine is the oldest city in US). We rode in one of the horse-drawn buggies driven by a very nice dark man. He explained all the interesting places we passed. Then to the wax Museum, then to Ross Allen’s Reptile Farm. It was scary to me. Tonight we are in TITUSVILLE, 3 miles from Cape Canaveral.
Tuesday, September 20, 1977 Hot and Humid
Tonight we are in Clermont Florida. We went to Kennedy Air Space Center, also to Sea World. What things we have seen, very interesting. We ate breakfast at Titusville. Went out over the peninsula to the JFK Space Center. We were taken around by bus and they gave lectures etc. They are now getting a space aircraft ready to take off into space in 1979. Also at Sea World it was very good, the whale and dolphins and seals, boat races etc. We like that very much. Did a lot of walking. Hot and humid. Had lunch at Sea World. Supper at a restaurant here in Clermont. Did a wash tonight. Stayed in Clermont all night. Showering tonight.
