Friday, October 7, 1977
A quite nice day. We got up early, done the work. Milan and Betty down to her sister’s cottage. Billie and I down to Betty’s, we killed their old hens. Dawn and I cleaned them. Fern and Betty washed and bagged them. Billie cleaned them and cleaned the hen house and got the pullets in. I came home, got supper. Milan and Betty home early. Got packed to go home tomorrow.
Saturday, October 8, 1977
A quite nice day. I made bread, two pies. Baked beans, done up housework. Bill worked at camp. Billie worked around the place. Walt busy, washed kitchen floor. I got a call from Betty Smith, they left here about 2:30 and got home a little after 8 AM. Dorothea and David up in PM. Brought the stereo up to Dawn and took Aunt Ava’s table home. She was here for supper, brought up snapshots.
Sunday, October 9, 1977 RAIN, PULLET EGGS
Today we got our first pullet egg. It has rained very hard all day. Wind blowed, leaves fell. I done regular work, changed the beds. Kim came up, we moved the summer clothes downstairs, cleaned closets, put away a lot of things. A day and no one done much. Es, Cliff and Susan and kids called and looked at snapshots.
Monday, October 10, 1977 a very nice day
Bill worked at Barnaby’s cottage all day. Ilan worked with him. I got a lot done today. I did a big wash. I defrosted porch refrigerator. I cooked heart and tongue for the dog. I cleaned around the kitchen refrigerator, cleaned the electric stove, cleaned cupboards etc. Zak up after supper and I shampooed his hair. Carmen and Betty to a meeting tonight.
