Thursday, July 12, 1973 a very nice sunny cool day, Bill
began shingling
Dorothea up early this morning. She made some brownies,
packed picnic lunch. I got up, got breakfast. We got ready and Bill Walker came
and then Betty and Zak. We left about 8:45 and we went to East Stoneham and
located the old cellar hole where my father’s birthplace was. Then Uncle George
Allen house. Betty and Dorothea found some old things. Then we called at the
(?) Butters place and talked with a lady who was the wife of (blank) Butters, a
distant cousin. Then we called at Aunt Sadie’s old place. Then drove out to
North Stoneham, had picnic lunch and then travel to the foot of Speckle
Mountain. We didn’t locate any graveyards though. Had a good time. Zak was
traveling right along with us. He was so cute. Dorothea got home early and
Betty and I made root beer.
