A nice sunny day. On the cool northwest windy side. It
seemed good to see the sun. I washed. Cooked, cleaned up the upstairs, washed
all the floors up there and Billie’s room. I ironed tonight. TONIGHT A PHONE
call from Dorothea and Dennis. A Mother’s Day greeting. What could be better?
They called from London, England.

Cloudy, fair weather and cold. Windy. I washed and varnished
the kitchen chairs and table, the hood over the stove. I cleaned Billie’s bureau
draws and the desk. Also china closet draw. I wrote to Betty and Dorothea, also
got Esther’s letter off. It was good talking with Dorothea and Dennis last
night. Billie had to work tonight.

Windy Windy Windy. An awful wind has blown so hard all day
and still is. Forest fires in Otisfield, Harrison, Naples and Casco. The town
crew had to help fight them. Billie worked again tonight. Today I cleaned both
hallways, bathroom and living room. Washed 14 pairs curtains. I got the
bathroom and little hallway painted. Got a Mother’s Day card from Betty and
Mike.
