Thursday, January 25, 1979 A VERY BAD DAY
It has been quite a bad stormy day, heavy wind blowing in snowing. We got about 14 or 15 inches of snow. Most schools closed and everything canceled all stores and working places closed in early afternoon. Bill plowed snow most all day. Bill’s arm is better. He still can’t do anything except he milks at night. Bill does rest of the chores. Carmen came up tonight and helped to do shoveling. They got stuck up to the shelter today. Billie and Carmen walked up to Dawn’s after supper.
Friday, January 26, 1979 NO SCHOOL
Bill out plowing early this forenoon. Over 100 towns closed their school’s today. Billie about the same.
Saturday, January 27, 1979
Well this is been a bad day, rain, snow and blow. It has been a mild day all day so that was a great help. I done regular work, washed floors and windows. The sun came out for a few minutes. Walter came and saw Carmen for just a little while on his way back to college, U of Maine in Orono. Billie’s arm a dite better. We have a lot of snow, it is piled so high. Walt shoveled roofs at home, shelter and Fern’s.
Sunday, January 28, 1979 Mild
It is still very mild and the snow has settled a lot. I done my regular work. In PM Billie and I went down to Fern’s. Lloyd gone just 2 weeks. Mr. Melby and his son shoveled Fern’s garage roof off.
