Sunday, August 8, 1976 cloudy
I done a dite of washing, changed the beds, but it was cloudy so I couldn’t wash all the sheets etc. So I did just a few things. This is been a miserable day weatherwise. Betty and Carmen and Zak and I went to barn sales. I did a dite of washing. After supper I was invited down to Betty’s, Dorothea and David, Joy and girls and all the Horton’s gave me a very nice birthday. Bill was there too. Had cake and ice cream, (made by Dorothea). Very pretty. Also many nice gifts and cards from ALL.
Monday, August 9, 1976 An awful day, hurricane coming
It has rained all day. Cloudy and dreary. This afternoon we are getting hurricane warnings. I have been busy all day. Kim is come up to stay all night. I had broiled steaks tonight, first time I ever use the broiler. Esther came over this evening a little while.
Tuesday, August 10, 1976 JASON MARTIN KNICK
The HURRICANE did not get here. We are very lucky. It has been raining all day. Some wind. Not too bad though. I have been very busy, defrosted refrigerator, made a apple pie, washed kitchen floor, done all the work up. Kim has been here most all day. Joy and girls called. Jason Martin Knick was born today. We are so glad for Norma and Jim. They have a son. BETTY called me at about 6 PM. It began to clear up about 4 PM. We saw sun first since last Friday. Supposed to be good weather a few days.
