Monday, April 5, 1976 A quite nice day, Carmen back-to-school
On the windy side, but sunny. The snow nearly all gone now. I got ready, figured out the bills and then Betty and I went up to Ames and finished Kimmy’s birthday shopping. Also went to Shaw’s at the shopping center. Came home dead broke. Carmen got sick at school. Bill went after her after supper. Betty, Kim and I called at Fern and Lloyd’s. Kimmy took them down some gingerbread and whipped cream she made, it was delicious.

In p.m. I went down to Betty’s, we cleaned her shed chamber. Bill down town all a.m. trying to get his car fixed. In evening Betty, Walt and Zak came to see the tractor.
