Well a nice sunny day, it was some windy. Well Carmen and I prepared a going away supper for Kim tonight. We had it up here to our house. Betty’s was all torn up because of papering. Had baked chicken, mashed potato, salad, stuffing. Two nice salads which Carmen prepared also she made delicious popovers and a German chocolate cake. It was delicious. The whole supper was very good. Kim was very pleased got money in money gifts. Betty Smith came up and helped get the meal. Betty, Walt, Carmen, Zack, Kim and Brogan. Betty Smith, Billie and me, Dorothea came later and had a bite and some cake.

Today Kim called and said her goodbyes. She left at about noon for Boston with a friend Joleen Bell, to stay overnight and at 7:30 AM will go to the airport and leave for the island of Aruba for a weeks vacation. She and Joleen graduated from Lake Region High School together. I went down to Betty’s to see her living room all done. It looks very nice, they papered at last night. Got through about 3 AM. She and Dorothea and Betty Smith was there and helped to settle it.

A rainy day. I done up regular work and Saturday work. Made rolls. It rained very hard in a.m. and heavy winds. David came and had coffee this morning. Billie didn’t do only regular work. He and I both read all the papers and got caught up on that. Betty and Walt gone away. Carmen and Brogan home alone. Kim and Joleen got to their destination tonight. Joleen was a dite nervous, she had never flown before.
Nanny was being kind - a dite nervous was an understatement. 😉
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the diaries, Kim, your grandmother reminds me of my grandmother. It brings back nice memories of her and their generation.
Certainly a lost era. A lot of great memories with Nanny.
