Monday, November 19, 1962
A very nice day, Sunny. Blanche, Dot and I went to Portland.
Blanche went to the Social Security Board. Dot done some shopping. I got a
tablet and three ballpoint pens. Blanche did some shopping. I started the
washing. Betty finished it. Bill put in a different toilet seat tonight. Sold 1
gallon of milk to Phil Hunt, $.65 per gallon. Randy called.
Tuesday, November 20, 1962
I ironed. A cloudy day. We don’t have very many good days.
Some sunshine. I went to town with Lloyd, had my glasses tightened. Left Bill’s
teeth. Came home, did a dite of cooking for Thanksgiving. Bob and Blanche here.
Rayburn got a deer today.
Wednesday, November 21, 1962
Cloudy, miserable, dreary day and ended up any rain. I
cooked in a.m. Blanche here. I got my turkey and chicken started. Lloyd came
up. In PM I worked at Hansen’s. She paid me what she owed me. In evening Kay
came up and did Betty’s hair.
Thursday, November 22, 1962 Thanksgiving
RAIN RAIN RAIN. Thanksgiving. RAIN as it did last
Thanksgiving. Bob and Blanche here this year. Got up kind of early for a
holiday. I had to do some cooking and get the dinner to going. We had turkey,
chicken, gravies, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnip, shell beans, onions,
carrots, cranberry sauce, olives, rolls, graham nut bread, butter, fruit salad,
coffee, tea, date filled, lemon sponge, mince pie, cranberry sauce, whipped
cream cake.
