Saturday, June 4, 1994

 

A nice sunny clear day. I didn’t do anything as of course usual. I have a babysitter today and it was a good one. It was Joan Gardner. She does such a good job. Well there was a fire downtown. Also Dot Smith’s funeral was today. A very nice funeral. Also there was very bad fired today. Today Betty wheeled me in the wheelchair down the road and back. It was nice. Also to see the new flag raising. They did a good job.

 

 

 

Sunday, June 5, 1994

 

I feel much better today, the resting I got helps so much. I eat a dite better now .Jeff called Dorothea this morning. He is terribly upset about his girlfriend leaving him. I feel so sorry for him. I love him and hate to see go so hard for him. I wish he could get a good job and find a good girl. BJ is going home today. She is coming back to Carmen’s to live. I hope it won’t upset Brogan’s life.

 

 

 

 

Monday, June 6, 1994 RED LETTER DAY

 

Cloudy. Well I got up and got dressed. Ate breakfast. Went out on the porch. Came in and went to bed, up at about 1:30. At about 2 PM the physical therapist came. She thought I was doing real well. Also  Esther made a very good frozen fruit salad. I did a lot for lunch as it was so good. Carmen took her dog to the vet. Got him bathed and some shots. Betty brought up the bed today and made up on the porch for Dorothea. I hope she will rest better. Well today I got a permanent. I look so much more human. Barbara McDaniels came up here and gave it to me. I love it.

At last a very nice sunny day. I came home from the hospital at last. I came home by ambulance and at last I’m better. Hope I don’t get another one of those spells for a long while. I went into the hospital on May 24,no it was May I went (?)

 

 

 

Thursday, June 2, 1994

 

Well it has been a cloudy and clear day today. Well I felt much more rested this morning when I got up. This is the second day home. I hope I’ll be about from now on. Esther came over. The nurse came today for evaluation, talk to me about my condition etc. I’ll be so glad when a get back to normal again.

Well at last we had a very nice clear and quite warm sunny day. I sat on the porch all day. Carmen came early this morning. She had a customer early. I wrote a letter to Esther. I read papers and magazines. Betty came up and got the supper. Brogan on a hike today with the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed the day but got awful tired. Zak up late this p.m. Dorothea went to Cumberland with David to take his sheep wool down. Dorothea didn’t have to work. Mrs. Simpson is in the hospital.

Another one of those dreary miserable days. Carmen came early, done her work. Then Kim came and she cleaned the kitchen cupboards. Carmen had to go get Betty’s chickens. Then she came back and helped in the kitchen. They got it most all done. Kim had to go to work. Carmen had a hard day with the boy. Chicks came today at Betty’s. Walt’s truck went today over to the garage to be overhauled. Arnold here for supper. Carmen she is exhausted. Betty finished her housecleaning today.

 

 

 

Thursday, May 19, 1994 Jackie Kennedy died tonight, a shock to everyone

 

Most of this day was cloudy, during middle part of the day it was sunny and nice. On the cool side though. Well Carmen came and Cameron. She got the breakfast etc. The nurse came to see Billie. About 9 AM Dorothea came and she went to cleaning. She finished the kitchen and bathroom then she did the breezeway. After that she did the ironing that was here. She got a very good roast beef supper, done the dishes. Carmen went and got her hair done over to Lewiston. Then Betty went to Lewiston and saw a girl. Well Zak went back to Portland with a new vehicle. He bought Walt’s truck. It was all ready and he took it home tonight. The boy who works of Betty was going to buy it. I’m so pleased for Zak. He is doing okay. He is doing photography for station 51. Also still working at the airport.

 

 

 

Friday, May 20, 1994

 

At last a very nice sunny day. Quite on the warm side. David came for coffee. Carmen came, did her work also the nurse came. Carmen came and did her work. She had Cameron, he stayed until Carmen had her customer. Then while she went to the doctor in Norway Betty kept him. Dorothea came, washed all the windows and cleaned the screens and put them on. Jason came and worked for Billie. Got a lot done today. Finished the fencing. All cleaned up around here inside and out. Look so nice. Tonight Tom came up and he showed me his new fireman’s uniform.

It is cold and windy. Same as yesterday. Carmen came, did the work. Nurse came early. David came for coffee. She made a angel cake delight this morning. I wrote to let Esther. Also fixed my nightgown. Well today a lot of excitement. Carmen moved her cows up. Betty, Arnold, Tom and Carmen led the large heifers up, the black one Walt brought up, the black one with a pail of grain. They had quite a time with the big one. We all enjoyed the sight. Also in PM there was a graduation party at Jay and Debbie’s. Later in PM a bad car accident in front of Betty Smith’s house. So all in all it was a big day. Also Tom and Brogan had a good time flying the new kites.

Dorothea here this morning. She did all the work. She fixed Brogan’s hair which was a good thing. She looked so much better. I didn’t do much. I looked at the papers . Walt up for coffee. Didn’t see much of Carmen’s family. Brogan called a minute tonight. Betty in a minute today.

 

 

 

Monday, May 16, 1994

 

Once a miserable day it has been. Rain and clouds. Today Carmen and Kim came. They cleaned the two bedrooms and bathrooms. They look nice. The rain makes it so miserable. Billie is quite lame. He can’t get around very well. Carmen went to the doctor about her throat. She has got to go to the doctor in Portland for her throat. A operation to prevent her from snoring. My legs are better today. Betty had a very good pot roast hash. Tonight Betty and Carmen took Billie down to the hospital, he was in such pain with his leg. They treated him and he came home. Dorothea was there too.

 

 

 

Tuesday, May 17, 1994

 

It started out cloudy and showery. As the day went on it began to clear away. Later in the p.m. it was real nice. The sun came out. Well Carmen came early this morning, done her work. David came and had coffee. Billie didn’t get up very early. About 10 AM Carmen and Kim began cleaning the living room and at about 2:30 to 3 they got it all done. Curtains and drapes all up. It looked very nice. Betty’s new hired boy came today, she liked him very much. I hope he will do very well. Well Zak came up today the first time in three weeks. He is doing very well with the photography he is doing for channel 51 taking pictures. He is getting good pay and paid Walt $400 on his bill. He was here for supper. He still works at the airport.
