Cloudy and some snow and rain. In late PM it cleared away some. I worked on the puzzle, watched the president inaugural all day. Very nice. I wish them all the best of luck. After interviews etc. It made a difference the way people feel about George Bush. Mrs. Bush is a very nice kind down to earth person. No high-class to her. Carmen, Zack and Brogan dropped in for a little while so we could say goodbye to Brogan. She went with her father for the weekend. Billie down and got his car fixed. Dorothea and Betty Smith here in evening.

A nice sunny day. It was clear but very windy and cold. I got up early to get my work done. I did regular work then washed floors. I made bread, cream puffs and chocolate pie. David came down and had coffee with Billie. I read papers, worked on puzzle all day.

This is been a nice clear day. Not too cold. I done up regular work then I wrote letters, three. Walt was up for coffee. Carmen went and got Brogan over to Lewiston. Betty called today.
The blog posts below are taken from my grandmother's diaries. Althea Green Smith Crook was lovingly referred to as Nanny to her immediate family ~ thus her diaries are called Nanny's Diaries.
Nanny wrote in her diaries when she remembered to - mostly in the evening. There will be some years in which she didn't keep diaries and there will also be some days/weeks in her yearly diaries in which she skipped or forgot to write in them. For the most part, these are her words - written as she wrote them. There will be typos, forgotten punctuation, and other grammatical errors - but I am rewriting these as my Nanny originally wrote them.
As with all old handwriting, there are some entries that I can't quite make out - and these entries will be followed with a (?) to signify that this may or may not be correct or I can't figure out what she is trying to write.
Thank you Nanny for leaving us 50 years worth of memories! We miss you!
