At last a nice day. It was sunny and mild. We got up early, got ready to go down to Betty’s for a big day. It was enjoyable to see them unwrap all their gift. They had a lot of very nice and useful gifts. All was very pleased with what they got. A lot of clothes. We had a nice dinner. Turkey, roast pork, turnip, onions, shell beans, celery, stuffing, olives, celery, salad, all kinds of bread, pies, cookies, brownies etc. etc. Very nice day, beside us and the Hortons, Joy and family, Susan and family and Paula, Jeff, Dorothea and David and Fern were there for the dinner and afternoon. A very nice day.

Monday, December 28, 1981 Billie to doctors
Well it was snowy and cloudy this morning. It partially cleared off. I did the washing. Also ironing. Carmen came up and brought up the turkey. I made turkey pie for them, also had enough left over and sent some up to Dorothea. Betty took Billie to the doctors in Portland. They still could not do anything because the sugar is still too high. So he gave him some pills to get it down then he has to go back 29th of January. Zak and Dorothea went too. Bill in all day. He don’t get out only to plow snow. Bill plowed.
