Saturday, August 4, 1979 HOTTER
Well it has been such a very hot day. I made bread, rolls and baked beans. We all went down to Betty’s. Demings, Knicks, Thomases for supper. It turned out to be a surprise birthday for me. It is awful. I got a lot of very nice gifts, cards and money. Today Betty and Walt lost their little calf. He had lung fever and pneumonia. That is too bad, a big loss. Walt didn’t feel very good.
Sunday, August 5, 1979 WALT TO HOSPITAL
Early this morning Betty took Walt to the hospital, kidney stones. When she got home she came up here and had breakfast. Milan and Betty came early this morning. In PM we went down to Betty’s for a little birthday party for Jason. Kimmy put it on. It was nice, he is very cute. He enjoyed all his things he got. Walt came home from hospital tonight.
