Wednesday, August 11, 1971 A Very Hot Day
It was burning hot today, at about 1:30 a very severe
thundershower came up. The tornado wind did a lot of damage in many places. It
blew the tent away at Betty’s. It blew trees across houses, driveways and roads
were clogged. It came off clear and cooler. I done regular work. Bill took
Rototiller over to Twitchell’s to be repaired. Lloyd went with him. Betty sick,
I went down there for a little while. Bill and I took kids down swimming,
because of showers there wasn’t any lessons. I went to the band concert with
Esther. Cliff played.
