Saturday, July 2, 1960 A very good day
After a few hours of cloudiness in a.m. it cleared off hot.
Bill, Jean and I drove to Andover,Massachusetts to George Keith’s wife’s
funeral. Mary Keith. We saw many of Bill’s relatives. We saw the shop where
Bills father used to work in his store he used to have also the houses where
they used to live. It was a nice trip, we had a good day. Used Billie’s car. It
run very good. Didn’t get home till late.
Sunday, July 3, 1960
Cloudy except for a little while in the a.m. Bill and Billie
began tarring the lower barn roof. Bob, Joy and Debbie called in a.m. Raymond
in p.m. Also Bob’s whole family in p.m. Blanche took some four generation
pictures. Lloyd and Fern in here in p.m. too. Lloyd, Buddy, Joy, Debbie and I
to played croquet. Betty not home all day. Daniel Porter died this afternoon.
Monday, July 4, 1960 Mowed Hay
A fair day. I washed. Paul Hodson mowed the hay. Billie took
Fern and I down to see the parade. Very good. Allen Nash and family called here
this p.m. Also Phil Hudson and family called and Kennie, Dot and Karen. Betty not
home today. She took in all of the Fourth of July affair. Got paid today $33.
Tuesday, July 5, 1960
Very nice and clear this morning. About 10 o’clock it
clouded up and got real cold. I had to turn the furnace on. Aunt Ava called.
Billie didn’t have the hay baled or raked. Karen went to the hospital for
x-rays etc. Joan left hospital today. I paid L. C. Andrews’s today.
Wednesday, July 6, 1960 Jeff 2 today Haying all Done
Nice and clear this morning, about 10 all cloudy. More
sunshine today than yesterday. The hay dried better. Paul raked and Gordon
Sanborn baled it. Raymond, Billie, Paul, Erwin and Bobby got it in. Dot and
Kennie called. Daniel Porter buried today.
