A big snowstorm. I washed. Dorothea got a special delivery
letter from Dennis today. Jeff got awful cold.
Friday, January 29, 1960
A nice day, it cleared off early in a.m. Dorothea and Barb
went to Lewiston. I cleaned up the house downstairs. Jeff’s cold is better. D
feels better too. In late p.m. Billie and Raymond plowed out the driveway with
George Allen’s jeep. Dorothea, Jeff and I to town. Betty went off downtown to
see Dolly. Kennie, Dot up to say goodbye to Dorothea and Jeff tonight, also
Barb and Wesley over this evening. Dorothea done some packing tonight.
Saturday, January 30, 1960
A very nice day. Milan, Norma and Ned arrived here about 6
AM, they left at one in Connecticut. We all was glad to see them, they have
come to get Dorothea and Jeff. Dorothea, Billie, Milan have been around calling
to town etc. today. Jeff home with me, he didn’t feel too good today. Blanche
here today. Bob and Blanche this evening. Dorothea finished packing. Betty and
Norma up to Dawn’s and up to a skating party tonight, had a good time. Cliff
left for Texas today so Es said in her letter, also they bought a new Chevy
1960 this past week. Also a new breakfast set.
Sunday, January 31, 1960 Dorothea and Jeff left today
THEY LEFT. Yes Dorothea and Jeff left today at 1:30 PM for
the first lap of their journey to England. They went with Milan, Norma and Ned
back to Connecticut. It is awful to have them gone. MISS them both. Betty has
been real happy today. I got Billie’s room done after they went. Do some more
tomorrow. I wrote to Es and Susan. Just got a call from Dorothea. They got
there at 6:30, just five hours going down. Betty up to corner skating tonight.
Miss them so much tonight. Gone for three years.
