Sunday, June 30, 1957
A cold day but clear. Mylan and Betty left about 9:30 to go
home. Betty to church. To her surprise Martha Raye was a guest at the M. E.
Church today. In p.m. a cookout. Aunt Ava and Uncle Lewis and Kennie Whitney
here. Donnie also sick tonight.
Monday, July 1, 1957
Partly cloudy, on cool side. I washed (a big one) clothes
didn’t dry good. Donnie more comfortable today. They came and installed our new
phone today, a yellow wall phone had it back out the kitchen.
Tuesday, July 2, 1957
A cold cloudy day. Mama down to Ferns today and night. I got
a $50 from L. R. today. I ironed. Betty down to the carnival tonight. Bill
raked hay at Lloyd’s tonight to be burned.
Wednesday, July 3, 1957
A nice forenoon. Clouded in p.m., got cold. I started a fire
in kitchen stove. Bill worked tonight after supper. I planted corn and peas
today. Betty at Dawn’s in a.m. Down to carnival in p.m. and eve. Donnie up
today and dressed. Mama still down to Ferns. Mrs. Parks and her friend Neta
called in evening, also Raymond. We had a shower tonight.
