Saturday, June 22, 1957
A very nice day not too hot. Brud and family called. Sold 11
boxes strawberries today. Did up the work and in a.m. Betty and I pick
strawberries. Betty down swimming in evening after supper. Bill and Billie
moved Betty’s camp down to back in the field. Billie worked over to Jim’s after
supper. Barbara Conant Autio called. I made root beer today.
Sunday, June 23, 1957 Hot
A nice day. We picked eight boxes of strawberries. Took them
down to Ferns. Billie raked the hay. Gordon came and bailed it. Raymond came
over and help them get it in. Had 114 bales. George Bowley and Glenn Chadbourne
called. Rosalie Smart and son called. Also Don O’Brien. Betty to church. Got
all the hay done at home today. Billie mowed at Lloyd’s for himself today. Sold
eight boxes.
Monday, June 24, 1957 HOT
A very hot day. I did a very big wash. Donnie sick in
the p.m. In evening Dawn Parks came up and spent the evening. Betty went down
and stayed all night with Dawn Parks. Mildred Chadbourne died this morning
early. Telephone man called.
Tuesday, June 25, 1957
It rained all day hard. Bill didn’t work. I worked at Thena’s.
Betty went down to Augusta with Dawn Parks, first time she ever saw the capital
building of Maine. Fern and Lloyd called in evening. Also David, Stevie and
Kennie Whitney. Betty got a new bird today. Donnie sick.
