A very nice day. I washed, the clothes got dry. Cow (Judy)
had her CALF today, a heifer.
Tuesday, May 7, 1957 DRY
A nice day. Got real hot. I ironed and cooked. Bad forest
fires today.
Wednesday, May 8, 1957 Hot Dry
A very hot day. Made soap, cleaned up the house some. Kay up
here for supper. Bad forest fires in New England. In evening Bill and I went up
to Queenie Ridlons and over to Harrison. I put on bedroom screens.
Thursday, May 9, 1957 Hot and dry
Another nice hot day. Bad fires in Mass, Maine, R.I., Conn.
and N.H.. Betty got her glasses today from Dr. Crowley. Aunt Ava took me
downtown in a.m. Had first mess dandelions tonight for supper, good. Bill and I
up to Gordon Sanborn’s tonight. Betty, Holly and Nancy in swimming tonight.
Holly here for supper. White cat been gone about a week.
