A long day. No one called. The wind blowed hard all day. Cold. Walt up for coffee. I wrote to Esther and got the magazine read. Zak didn’t get up very early.
Monday, February 3, 1992 $489
Checks came. I got things ready. Zak down and done the banking for us both. I did the washing. Got a shoulder on cooking for supper. We had spinach greens, hot cornbread muffins. Betty and Walt were here. Kim and Tom and Kelly came up here, had lunch here. This evening Zak down to Betty’s. Carmen called and they took her down to the hospital. She needs care.

I done regular work. I made a cake for Carmen’s birthday. Kim called today.
Wednesday, February 5, 1992 CARMEN C HORTON 29 years
Another cold windy day. I didn’t do much. Zak done the shopping. I got meat ready to cook. I made a chiffon cake for Carmen’s birthday. Carmen had her 29th birthday. She, her mother and father, Arnold, BJ, Brogan and Zac were here, had a good pot roast supper. She got a large sum of money, a gift from Tom and Kim. Two sweaters from Zak. Dorothea, David, Billie, Betty S and Arnold gave her money. Nick’s condition is serious. I’m so sorry for him.
