We got another little puppy which will find a path to our
hearts. A purebred German Shepard female puppy. Bought her at Harvest Hills
Kennels. Mrs. Jean Edwards. She is a sweet dog. Hope to enjoy her for many
years.

A very hot day. I washed, late getting at it and late
getting it done. Washed kitchen floor. Our new puppy has enjoyed herself and
her new home. Betty had her outside, also had Carmen out. We got the clothes in
and did our ironing done in evening.

Another very hot day. I done up my work and Blanche called
and wanted someone to go to Norway. I went, we got home about noon. In p.m.
Mrs. Simpson and Mr. Richardson called and hired me to work for them. One
dollar per hour seven hours a day. I hope I can stay all winter. In evening
Betty, Carmen and I called at Ferns and Blanche’s.

And still no rain, but very hot. I cooked, washed kitchen
floor, wrote letters. Cleaned up the downstairs. Betty and Blanche up to North
Conway New Hampshire and had Carmen’s pictures taken. Bill over to Aunt Ava’s
to work after supper.
