Saturday, June 30, 1962
A nice day, hot. Betty, Mike, Timmy and Mary Lou all went
over to North Bridgton swimming, then over to Norway with Mike’s mother when
she called. I done a little cooking and cleaned up the whole house. Betty and
Mike downtown in evening. Billie put pigs outside.
Sunday, July 1, 1962
A nice day. Got ready to go on picnic. Bill down to Jean’s
in a.m. In PM Kennie, Dot, Blanche, Betty, Mike, Bill and I all went on a
picnic and for a long ride and called it Dawn’s new home. Fern, Lloyd called
and Charles Virgin. Billie mowed hay for Lawrence. Norma Gay out to Ohio to
Demings, went by jet plane. Picked 15 quarts.
Monday, July 2, 1962
A nice day, not too hot. I washed. Mike got his call for
Portland. He has got to go back to Fort Lewis July 5. Betty, Mike and I went
down in the woods for our annual walk. I picked greens, froze some. I picked
over some strawberries and froze them. In evening Bessie and Rowena called,
also Arts family. Art came and got his pigs. Picked 1 quart.
Tuesday, July 3, 1962 A NEW GRANDCHILD IS A COMING
Betty and Mike to Dr. Richard’s today. He told them they are
to become parents in January or February 1963. I worked, but didn’t accomplish
much. Now we are making plans for the new baby. Aunt Ava called. I gave her two
boxes berries. I picked 9 quarts.
