Tuesday, July 24, 1962
Rain. It began raining about 8:30 or 9 PM last night. Rain
and showers all day, cleared in late p.m. Cold. We picked peas and raspberries
after supper.
Wednesday, July 25, 1962
A nice day. I got my work done early, went over to Aunt Ava’s
and Uncle Lewis’s. In evening Fern came up and stayed all evening. Turn cows
into new pasture tonight.
Thursday, July 26, 1962
Rain rain rain. Cold. It rained all day. I didn’t do much in
particular. Some odds and end jobs. Betty didn’t do much either. I picked some
string beans in a.m. before it began to rain. In evening Kennie and Dot called.
Betty got a letter from her husband. Art and girls here. I held his little baby
for him. Robin (?) Jennifer. Jacqueline Donna Smith 19 years today.
Friday, July 27, 1962
No rain but cold, cloudy and windy. I done up the work , got
Dorothea’s birthday cards off. Blanche and I to town. Mama not very good today. She
went to bed early. I picked string beans and raspberries. Froze the beans.
Betty over to Blanche’s. No letter from MIKE. We have had such cold, cloudy and
rainy weather this month. We have to have the house closed up all the time.
