Wednesday, August 1, 1962
A nice day after the sun came out. It was foggy in early
morning. Cleared late in a.m. Betty got ready and went down to Dawn’s in a.m.
David came up and got her. I cleaned the shed chamber and all the bedrooms upstairs.
I washed the floors and all. I picked string beans for supper. The Dianne
Fabello funeral was a very big one. Catholic. Letter from Mike.
Thursday, August 2, 1962
A very nice day. Betty and Dawn gone up to Brunswick to the
commissary buying groceries etc. It was warm and sunny today, a little breeze.
I cleaned up all the downstairs. I trimmed grass, picked and froze beans. Jeff
called in p.m. Fern, Lloyd, Blanche and Eva gone on a picnic today. Betty and
Dawn came about 8:30 PM. Betty had a good time.
Friday, August 3, 1962
Another one of those nice days. I cleaned up the front
porch. Went to Norway with Blanche. Came home, done up the rest of my
housework. And figured bills and wrote out store lists. I’m just plain upset
about our bills and buying groceries. I am really worried today. How am I going
to do it? Betty got two letters from Mike today.
Saturday, August 4, 1962
Cloudy. Milan and family came about 10:30 AM. Linda Rockliff
came with them. Alice Boutilier came and brought her two children up for a
week. Verna and children came down and called. I got the bed ready for company.
Linda Berry called today. She has a car of her own. Fern came up for supper and
evening. Kids had a good time. Billie working for Lawrence.
