A nice day. Mama went for a long ride with Bob and Blanche.
Went down to the Cemetery and Raymond where Grandfather Smith is buried. Also
over to Welchville cemetery where Grampa McKeen’s sister all buried and up to
West Bethel where Merrill Everett is buried. Fern, Lloyd, Kennie and Dot
called. Also Irene Carsley, she hasn’t been here for several months. She and
Betty went down to Dawn’s for a visit. Rowena up here tonight. Bill and Billie
put in new ceiling up in the tie up.

A very nice warm mild day. I washed and the clothes dried
very good. Betty got her new glasses today. She can see better with them. Her
eyes are bad. I cleaned up the shed chamber’s and cleaned the grain room. Betty
home early from school. She had Mike’s ring around her neck. Tonight after
supper during the evening Mike called for Betty to meet him at the corner. He
is taking his ring back. I’m sorry. I trusted Betty with Mike. Betty still has
hopes, I think too. Maybe in the future they will renew their friendship (I
hope).
Since I wrote this I must add another paragraph. Betty still
wears Mike’s ring. They came back home arm in arm, all made up good good good.
Tuesday, November 15, 1960 Billie to Doctors
It has rained all day hard at times. I churned, did a big
ironing, called Lida, wrote to Mrs. Ayers. In p.m. I made some donuts for Mike
in case he hadn’t gone back to Auburn and came up with Betty. Also made a
chocolate fudge layer cake. Betty out for supper. After supper Rowena and Linda
came up here, they have a lot of studying to do. Billie had a lot of pain in
his eye that he got a piece of steel in. He went to the doctor. He came home,
put drop in and back to work in p.m.
