Friday, June 23, 1961
Cloudy and showers. Betty was supposed to go to work, but
they didn’t need her. I cleaned up the chambers. Mike over to Camp Zakelo (?)
to get a job. In evening kids when to Danny (?) Powers birthday party. Bill and
I to town shopping. Kennard called. Dr. Henry Hebb died this
morning. His health has been bad for a long time. Too bad.
Saturday, June 24, 1961
Rain. What a day. I cooked, baked beans. Mike down to his
grandmother’s in p.m. Bill and Billie making plans to have the barn cellar
filled in, cemented etc. Betty might to town in evening.
Sunday, June 25, 1961 First cookout of season
A beautiful day when we got up and all forenoon. Hot. Billie
and I down to Ferns and Lawrence to get hot dogs for cookout. Fern, Lloyd and Uncle
Os came up. Kids to car races.
Monday, June 26, 1961 LETTER FROM ADAIRS
Very nice in a.m. and most of p.m. I washed, got it all out
before rest of family got up. I wrote to Esther and family. Billie and I to
town. Mike mowed lawns. Betty out on the horse for short time. In p.m. Billie
and I down to Ferns. Letter from Dorothea, first one for a long time.
Betty and Mike to movies. Bill down to Gordon’s.
