Another sunny dry day. It is nice to have the sun but we are so in need of rain. This is the worst drought we have had for many years. Lawns are all brown and crisp also fields and pastures are all going by. I was down to Betty’s, we did her beans. Betty went to the Dr. in Lewiston with Zak, he has got to have operation first of next week. Fern went with her. Kim down to Debbie Woodbury’s. Bill worked on the wood.

Thursday, August 24, 1978 RAIN
Today we got rain, not enough, but it helped what we did get. I didn’t do too much. I went to Lewiston with Betty to take Zak over for x-rays at the CMMC hospital. He goes Monday for a minor operation. That is he is admitted on Monday. Then Tuesday he is operated on. If all is okay he comes home Wednesday. Today Carmen and a group of her friends when out on the Songo River Queen for a party given by a friend of hers. They had a good time. Donny didn’t make it.
