Cloudy. Kind of warm. I
washed. Got a letter from Dorothea today telling us about her engagement to Frank
Brandon of Camden Tennessee. In evening Fern, Lloyd and McCammon called to say
goodbye.
Friday, July 6, 1956
Rained hard all day. Got
Donnie’s haircut. Bill, Bet, Donnie and I over to Lida’s in p.m. It evening we
went over to the doctors for Donnie. McCammon’s went home today.
Saturday, July 7, 1956
I did a lot of work. Churned
today for first time for about three or four weeks. Bill brought home 20 boxes
of strawberries, we froze them. After supper we went to town. Fern and Lloyd up
in evening. Cloudy and cold. Cleared late afternoon. Es, Susan and McCammon’s got home today. A jet plane crashed
on Pleasant Mountain. Barbara called today.
Sunday, July 8, 1956
Cloudy in early forenoon. Cleared
about noon til three then cloudy and cold. I got dinner, did up the work and
get caught up on newspaper reading. Kennie called. Bobbie called in evening.
Billie mowed up to Chet's. Bill worked in strawberry bed. Betty went swimming
with Jill. Sang at church this forenoon.
