Nice day. Goden worked here. Harold Penley called. Milan 26 years today and called Mama from New York.

Sunday, July 22, 1945

Mama up here today. Bill, Goden and Ilan worked on the barn. Billie led the Guernsey cow up to Del C. (Chadbourne) Holstein bull.

Monday, July 23, 1945

I washed, kind of cloudy. Goden and Ilan worked on the barn. Holstein cow calved. Hauled one load of logs today. Bill drawed $100 from Les Thomes.

Tuesday, July 24, 1945

Rayburn came up yesterday. They begun to work on timber in back of house. Hauled three loads from way down. Milan phoned from Monson.

Wednesday, July 25, 1945

Nice day. I worked outdoor mowing grass etc.

Thursday, July 26, 1945

Move chicks out onto range. Mama came home from Aunties or Fern and Lloyd’s new home. Began haying.

Friday, July 27, 1945

Finished up the new barn. Move chicks on the range. I washed. Nice day. Rayburn went home this morning.

Nice day. I did regular work. Downtown in eve.

Sunday, July 15, 1945

Rained nearly all day. Fern and Lloyd moved. And gave us their electric fridgerator as a gift. Bill and Billie helped them. Mama 65 years young today. Down to Uncle Os.

Monday, July 16, 1945

Cloudy. They hauled 2 loads of logs. Aunt Ava called in eve. Mr. and Mrs. Murray brought shavings. I washed. Charlie came up.

Tuesday, July 17, 1945

Fair. They hauled three loads of logs. Billie, Val and I cleaned out the big chicks. Got check for $80 from Leon Newcomb.

Wednesday, July 18, 1945

Showers today. Bill and Ilan still working on barn. Planks came from Bisbee. Hauled three loads of timber. I help to clean out small chicks.

Thursday, July 19, 1945

Nice day. Hauled three or four loads of logs today. I worked in garden. Big news letter from Carlton he was in Oakland California. Kennard Dorothea and I went to Harrison to see Dolores.

More news telegram from Milan in New York. Coming home soon. Also another letter from Carlton.

Bill and Ilan got through in the woods. Bill, kids and I went to town. Billie and Val went to movies.

Sunday, July 8, 1945

Bill, kids and I went over to Ivory Purinton’s in p.m. to see about lumber. Moved big chicks up stairs. Aunt Ava, Uncle Lewis and friend called.

Monday, July 9, 1945

I washed. Bill and Ilan began on new barn. I cleaned up the car. Ronald called a few minutes.

Tuesday, July 10, 1945

Showers. Today wrote letters to Brud, Carkie, Es and Jack. Sent for separator parts. We went down to see Goden in eve. Auntie back home.

Wednesday, July 11, 1945

Billie and Goden began to haul pulp. We went down to Jeans in eve. Fern and Lloyd became owners of Os Luck’s farm. Mr. Murray called $30.

Thursday, July 12, 1945

Billie and Goden hauled pulpwood. I washed. Sally and Goden here for supper. Mama called in eve.

Friday, July 13, 1945

They began to get ready to haul timber out today. Nice day. Billie and Goden hauled pulpwood. Got a letter from George C. (Crook)

June 30 - July 6, 1945

Saturday, June 30, 1945

Very hot. Mr. Murray and Mrs. Murray came. He paid us $35. Bill, girls and I went to town and Billie went in eve.

Sunday, July 1, 1945

Lloyd worked up here today. Nice day. Auntie went down to Ferns.

Monday, July 2, 1945

I did big wash. Cleaned up the house. Bill and I went to town in a.m. Bill and Ilan didn’t work in woods.

Tuesday, July 3, 1945

I ironed. Mama came up from Uncle Os and spent the day. Much cooler.

Wednesday, July 4, 1945

Hot. Lloyd worked up here in forenoon. Finished up. Aunt Linnie, Betty and I called to see Auntie at Ferns. Very poorly.

Thursday, July 5, 1945

Very hot. I washed. We mow the lawns in eve. I washed windows and swept floor on second floor of chicken barn. Dolores began work. The suitcase came from Frances Smith with one pair of German boots and some of Milan’s clothes.

Friday, July 6, 1945

I cleaned up the house. Iron. We finished mowing the grass. I got a letter (V-mail) from Milan. Mama got one yesterday.

June 23 - 29, 1945

Very nice day. Billie mowed grass. I cleaned the house. Aunt Ava and Uncle Lewis here for supper in eve.

Sunday, June 24, 1945

Lloyd worked up here today. I set dahlias out. Planted some peas. Dorothea planted flower seeds. Kennard and Dolores moved up to the camp.

Lloyd worked up here tonight. I washed. Thundershowers.

Tuesday, June 26, 1945

Lloyd worked up here tonight. Fern came up to. We went down to Aunties. She want (weren’t) so good. Rained all day and Bill and Ilan didn’t work in woods.

Wednesday, June 27, 1945

Arthur Shackley began to work in the woods with Mr. Grover today. Lloyd worked up here with Bill tonight.

Thursday, June 28, 1945

Lloyd not up. Mama and Uncle Os up in eve a little while. Kennie and children up. Nice day. I called on Minnie in p.m.

1000 more chicks came. I did big wash. Very hot. Bill, Dorothea, and I went down in woods. Rayburn up here. Dolores and Velma called.
