Tuesday, May 10, 1994

 

Another nice sunny day. Real warm. Sat on the porch in the new chairs. Betty, Kim, Carmen, Cameron and me went up to Waterford to see a house. Well we saw a snake out here in the garage. He was a monster I’d say. They let it live and got him down on the other side of the road where he went into the woods. Well tonight I had a dite of a dizzy spell, went down to the hospital for a checkup. I’m okay now. Carmen and Betty got me ready for bed.

 

 

 

Wednesday, May 11, 1994

 

A very nice mild day. I was on porch in forenoon. I didn’t do anything as usual. Watched soaps in PM. Dorothea took Betty Smith to the eye Dr. and the regular doctor to have herself checked. Dorothea called this p.m. They came and checked David sheep and gave the lambs a shot. I had a good day. Betty Crook got her cleaning done out to her living room. On scanner tonight a murder was reported. It was a girl that was in Carmen’s class and they was friends in childhood.

 

 

 

Thursday, May 12, 1994

 

Carmen came early. Then she went and got Cameron. Nurse also came later, a male nurse came to check Billie. A partly cloudy day, cold, some rain showers. Dorothea came and got the supper. A good one.

 

 

 

Friday, May 13, 1994

 

A cloudy windy day. On the cold side. Nurse Holden here also Carmen came and did all her work. Kim came, she picked some dandelions. A cold cloudy windy day. Carmen went to town and did the shopping. Kim got us a very nice lot of dandelion greens for supper. They were so good. Dorothea came and got the supper. Very good. Kim was here with us, and she liked the greens very much. Dorothea took Betty and I to Dr Petrone today. I got to take two more pills for a couple of days. Betty S got more medicine.

 

May 7 - 9, 1994 Last Mother's Day

 

 

Saturday, May 7, 1994

 

A very nice sunny clear day, temperatures way up. Leaves on the trees came out today, also the grass grew a lot. David here and had coffee and Billie’s nurse came. Carmen came and did the work. Jason came, he and Billie done a lot of fencing. Billie was out all day and he has been much better than yesterday. Also Zak came and brought me a very pretty Mother’s Day flower. Also one for his mother.

 

 

 

Sunday, May 8, 1994 Mother’s Day

 

It has been a very very rainy day. So hard it rains. This has been Mother’s Day and what a lucky mother I am. I got so much and many nice things. Two very nice glider chairs for the back porch. Gifts of all sorts and candy, money. I’m so pleased with it all. Walt cooked a very good dinner cookout feed. Hot dogs, hamburgers peppers and onions, chips etc. delicious. Also I got a very pretty bouquet, very delicate, from Zak. All in all very nice day. Tom, Kim, Arnold, Carmen, Betty, Walt, David, Dorothea, Billie, Betty Smith. Great-grandchildren Cameron and Brogan were all here.

 

 

 

Monday, May 9, 1994

 

At last a nice sunny day. Carmen and the nurse came. I got Esther’s letter ready to go. I will enjoy my new chairs today. A nice mild day. I didn’t do much as usual. Betty got the supper, a good one it was.

 

 

 

May 3 - 6, 1994

 

Tuesday, May 3, 1994

 

A dite nice today. It is kind of on the sunny and partly cloudy side. Not at all warm. Wind is blowing some. Carmen came early and done her work. Also the nurse came early for Billie. This morning Dorothea called, Dot in stable condition. Don’t respond much. Her condition don’t sound very good. Well in p.m. it cleared off very nice and warm. Carmen, Kim and I went to Ames shopping. I got a lot of things for the cleaning etc. It was a very nice day. Tonight Carmen and Arnold hauled out dressing down to Walt’s. Kids enjoyed that a lot. Betty down to Betty’s tonight to help her clean.

 

 

 

Wednesday, May 4, 1994

 

Kind of cloudy in a.m. Cleared nice in the p.m. Carmen went to town, did the shopping. Kim came this morning. She and Carmen went up to get the spring plants. Betty is cleaning her bedrooms today or started them. Betty got a lot done today. She got supper up here tonight. Then went down to Betty Smith’s and Dorothea, they got a lot done down there. Carmen and Arnold and kids got rest of the manure out tonight. Brogan loves that place so much down there. Also Carmen likes it too.

 

 

 

Thursday, May 5, 1994

 

Carmen came this morning, also the nurse. Carmen did her work, went to town. Carmen got to go to work at NCMH again from 3 to 11. Dorothea got the supper tonight. Watched the soaps this p.m. Betty cleaning some more today. Cameron down there this p.m. while Carmen is working. Kim and Tom up to New Hampshire shopping this p.m. I’m much better today.

 

 

 

Friday, May 6, 1994

 

Aunt Ava McKeen Keen’s birthday. A warm sunny day, some cloudiness. Carmen came, done all her work. Nurse came later to do Billie. Kim came and she washed and they cleaned the porch. It looks nice. Cameron here today with Carmen. We watched programs. Billie been in outfield all day. Dorothea came and did the supper. Cam was here also Brogan came. Dorothea had to work but got through early. Betty and Walt out to supper tonight. Betty worked at Betty Smith’s last night.

 

 

April 29 - May 2, 1994

 

Friday, April 29, 1994

 

A cloudy day. Carmen came, did her work. Also nurse Scribner came to do Billie. Carmen cleaned the house today, did the washing. Carmen took Bro out for supper and overnight to a friend at the Hazen House. Dorothea brought a chicken fricassee tonight, very good. Carmen took me to the doctor. I’m checked over and quite good he said. I got to take some more pills. Cameron stayed here with Billie and Dorothea.

 

 

 

Saturday, April 30, 1994

 

A very nice day, a dite cloudy in the a.m., but it cleared away and it became quite hot. The grass has grown a lot today. David came for coffee. Carmen came from NCMH and done her work. I done a dite of  odd jobs. I got Esther’s letter written this morning. Papers read etc. Carmen came, did rest of the work, got the lunches. Also Jason did a lot today. Betty came in the p.m., brought up some hot gingerbread and whipped cream. Very good. Carmen got supper tonight, good. I got papers looked over and cut out my clippings.

 

 

 

Sunday, May 1, 1994

 

Well from a nice day yesterday all day to a miserable cloudy day all day. I wish we could get some nice sunny days. Dorothea came today or this morning. She worked all day , got the lunches, etc. Betty came in PM and got the supper. It was good. Carmen slept some today. Betty had Cam and Brogan except Bro went up to Leeanna’s for a visit so Carmen could sleep. Arnold gone to see Nick. Early this morning on  the scanner they was taking Dot from Health Care Center to the NCM Hospital , a stroke patient.

Another nice day. Carmen came and the nurse. Watched soaps in PM. Carmen came and got the supper. I forgot to write this day. Watched soaps in PM. Maybe I went to the hospital for a check up. AII I got to do is take some more pills.
