Friday, April 26, 1991

 

A very nice sunny warm day. It was solid sun all day. I got up, cleaned the oven. I cleaned all the silverware and I done the washing. Went to Auburn with Carmen and Brogan. Gone until about noon. I did the ironing. Betty here, she settled the porch. The floor all dried and it looks very good. Carmen going to the movies, took Nice, Billie Jo and Brogan. Betty H and Betty Smith called in here for a little while. Carmen got the windows all washed on the outside.

 

 

 

Saturday, April 27, 1991

 

A quite nice day. Got cooler in p.m. I was on the porch all day. I read the papers, got them all done. Carmen and Arnold went and got a kitten for Betty up to Rockland. She is going to give Joy for her birthday. Betty had Brogan, Nick and Billie Jo all day. Betty came up and got our supper. She, Brogan and Walt were here for supper. David down this morning for coffee. Carmen worked till 11 PM. Kim gone to Portland today.

 

 

 

Sunday, April 28, 1991

 

At last I heard from Zac. He called. He is okay, working in a parking lot near WCSH TV. I made out the bills today. Walt up for coffee.

 

 

 

Monday, April 29, 1991

 

A quite nice day, warm. I done regular work. Then I cleaned my aluminum dishes. Also did my washing. Cleaned refrigerator, wiped it out. Carmen had cleaned it. Carmen came about 11 AM, wanted to know if I’d like to go to Auburn with her. I did. She picked up some more of Brogan’s pictures. Then we went to Kmart. Carmen got some things for me. They came home. She got supper and had to go to work at 11 PM til 7 AM tomorrow. Zac talked with Walt today.

Monday, April 22, 1991

 

Miserable day. I did a washing. Took a bath. Over to the doctor at North Bridgton. So the cloudy rainy miserable day. Carmen working all night tonight. Jason here and he and Billie got a lot done. Kim varnished second coat on cupboard.

 

Tuesday, April 23, 1991

 

Well we had some nice sunshine today. Carm here, she went to town, did some errands for Billie and I as usual. I done some odd and end jobs. Billie working outside to the best of his present ability. Carmen had a good supper as usual. David came down. They took Angel and Frisky home today. Carmen worked all night last night.

A nice day. I wrote out the store list. Billie to town with Carmen and get his hair cut.

 

 

 

Thursday, April 25, 1991 PERM

 

Well I got up very early this morning. Took a bath, got the breakfast and got the work done. Carmen came at about 8:30, took me down. I got my perm. How glad I am. Kim came and painted the breezeway floor. It looks so nice

Dorothea here and done breezeway. It looks very nice. Carmen and Kim to Lewiston. Betty cleaning. These days everyone is so busy getting ready for the company.

 

 

 

Friday, April 19, 1991

 

A beautiful day, very nice and sunny all day and mild. Carmen came and cleaned the house. Got a good supper. Betty was here, Walt in Rhode Island. Well Carmen got a set of beautiful pictures of Brogan. She had them taken some time ago. They were so good. She is a beautiful child. Smarter than a cricket. Dorothea called in p.m. and after supper.

 

 

 

Saturday, April 20, 1991

 

Mostly cloudy all day. Jason here and worked. Betty and Brogan here. Billie and Jason fixed the doorsteps. I did some checking over my bank book, etc. Walt got home at about 2 o’clock. David didn’t come for coffee. Billie got a lot of his chores done today.

Cloudy and heavy rain. I wrote to Esther and George. Walt up for coffee. A bad day.

A nice sunny day. I wrote to George and Esther. Didn’t do much today. A few odd and end jobs. Carmen, Brogan are over to Oxford for antiques. Carmen brought our supper up. Broil steaks, salads of Billie.

 

 

 

Monday, April 15, 1991

 

A rainy dreary miserable day. Kim came and got the kitchen cupboards done, shelves covered with new paper. Dorothea came and got all the breezeway done. Carmen here too and worked. She was busy all day, got the running around done, took me to the Dr. Field over in North Bridgton. She prepared a good supper, had Betty, Walt and Arnold here. A miserable day. Jason came, he and Billie got a lot done outside. Carmen has got to work all night.

 

 

 

Tuesday, April 16, 1991

 

Well another miserable day, cloudy. Jason came again. Even Billie got a lot done. I done some odd jobs in the kitchen. Carmen didn’t come and got any work done. She had to rest all day. I also washed. And did a big ironing. Rose called to get my state paper but it didn’t come. So she will get the packages for me. Carmen came later in p.m. She had a head ache. Got the cupboard on the back porch varnished.

 

 

 

Wednesday, April 17, 1991

 

Another cloudy foggy miserable day. David came and stayed till noon. Carmen came and did the rest of the cupboards in the kitchen. My knees are an awful bother. Dorothea to Lewiston with Barbara. She is going to get her a new rug. Carmen to work at three. I got the supper. Walt up and helped Billie to get the water turned on down cellar. A leak in the barn. It has made an awful mess out there.

April 10 - 13, 1991

Dorothea and Carmen did the rest of the bedrooms. They look so nice. I did washing and a big ironing.  I’ll be glad when it is all cleaned. It is hard work. Betty Smith and I helped Betty H do her china closets this forenoon. Carmen did the shopping.

 

 

 

Thursday, April 11, 1991

 

Dorothea and Carmen here, they did some more cleaning. The living room. Carmen did the china closet and corner cupboard. Kim finished rest of the ceiling. Dorothea did rest of the living room. She did a very good job. It looks very nice. I’m very pleased to get it done. Carmen did a lot errands than to work.

 

 

 

Friday, April 12, 1991 KIMBERLEY ALLIE HORTON

 

Today Kim turned 25 years. Her fiancé took her out and then out for dinner. A cold day. Well today I got the back porch all done. Dorothea did it. Carmen came in forenoon, cleaned the back bathroom and finished up the lower cupboards in the kitchen then she had to go away. The back porch looks nice.

 

 

 

Saturday, April 13, 1991

 

Been cloudy and quite cold. I done up my regular work. I did my hair. Didn’t do very much. David came for coffee this morning. Carmen and Bro calls. Carmen got the things at the store for us. Betty got my new curtains today for the kitchen. Also she got the rest of the supper, I started it. Susan and Monica over tonight to get the box Esther sent.

Another nice sunny day, very mild. David came this morning for coffee. He had a good visit. I done regular work. I got the papers read and all caught up on that. Betty called, got the supper prepared. Carmen dropped in for a minute in late p.m. Carmen, Arnold and their children went out at antique shops. Today we sat on the back porch for a little while. Very mild day, had thundershowers tonight.

Another very nice warm day. Sat on the porch for the second time. Betty’s folks had company. Walt up for coffee this morning. Betty up and got supper and washed dishes. Kind of a quiet day all in all.

 

 

 

Monday, April 8, 1991

 

A quite nice day. I did the washing. Carmen came and got lunch. I got a few more cupboards (shelves) cleaned. Then I got ready and went to Dr. Field over to North Bridgton. Time will tell. Dorothea here this p.m. and got a lot of the cleaning done. That is a big help. She is coming tomorrow again. Carmen and Bro here also Ebony up this morning.

 

 

 

Tuesday, April 9, 1991

 

Foggy. Carmen here today. She and Dorothea worked in the bedroom and bath. We had a baked sliced ham supper. Very good for Kim’s birthday. Ham, lima beans, mashed potatoes, spinach, nice cornmeal muffins, a very nice cake mocha. Betty, Walt, Betty Smith and Tom and Brogan and Kim. Carmen got Betty S. Carmen, Kim and Betty H did all the dishes. Kim got a sum of money and other nice gifts. Very nice evening. Dorothea came later for a visit and to see the gifts.
