I washed. Got quite cold.

Letter from Dorothea and family. Delores called. I got the clothes in.

Nice day. Linwood came today and begun on the furnace.

Friday, November 7, 1958

Bill home today. He helped them with the furnace. Got radiators set up. Kennard here today also. To town in late p.m. Mama up to Ken and Delores’s.

Saturday, November 8, 1958

A good day. I washed windows in dining room. Mama and I went to Norway in p.m. with Blanche. Betty stayed at home with Bruce.

October 30 - November 3, 1958

Thursday, October 30, 1958

Nice day. Bill worked. I washed the windows on the outside. Windy. Baby is real good. Holly came down with their baby, Randy Scott Smart.

Friday, October 31, 1958

I done up the work. Washed storm windows. To town in p.m. with Fern and Lloyd. Betty was terribly disappointed tonight, stubborn too. Windy.

Saturday, November 1, 1958

A very cold day, some wind. I cooked, churned, done up the work. Betty had a disagreeable day, not too happy. Billie got the storm windows on.

Sunday, November 2, 1958

A very nice pretty day. A busy one. Billie got his dressing hauled. Warren Stewart bought the end heater $50. Blanche called. Betty helped Billie. Bill helped Lloyd get wood. Lloyd, Kennard and Blanche called.

Monday, November 3, 1958

Rained. I didn’t wash. I churned in p.m. Bill didn’t work.

October 25 - 29, 1958

Saturday, October 25, 1958

Cloudy and rain. Bill stayed at home, he fixed the septic tank (dug it up). It is okay now. Kay here today. Cold all day. Baby is good. We moved couch in from back porch. I slept down there in D. R. with Bruce tonight. Dawn called.

Sunday, October 26, 1958 Billie Hauled SAWDUST

Cloudy. Cool side. Been quite busy all day. Aunt Ava and Uncle Lewis called. Bill got wood, worked on the septic tank. Bobby helped Billie. Betty, Randy Harmon and another schoolmate went hiking. Raymond came over.

Monday, October 27, 1958

Rained. I didn’t wash. Bill didn’t work. I wrote letters. Sent Bill’s insurance. Billie got a new calf tonight. Worked all day. Betty late getting home tonight.

RAIN. Bill up to LAHEY Clinic in Boston, went up on the train. He had a thorough going over today he said. I washed. Delores called. Poor girl I pity her. She has an awful life. Bruce very good. I churned etc.

Still rain. Bill didn’t work. Clothes still on the line.

A nice day, cold. I washed. Took care Bruce. He is very good so far. Delores called in a.m. Bill took Fern to town in late p.m. Letter from Adair’s.

Tuesday, October 21, 1958 Fern 56, Pig went

A very nice day, except on cool side. I cooked, wrote to the Adair’s. Mama up to Stow with Aunt Ava and Uncle Lewis. Raymond Allen, Evelyn and Mary Ridlon called also Joan, Dot, Lorraine and kids. Betty and Bill up to Bill Ridlon’s after supper. Billie and I down to Ferns in evening.

A very nice day, I got my work done. Miss Kalwall came. Said Bruce looks good. Dolores called. I ironed in late p.m. Edith McAllister called, also Dawn and David.

Thursday, October 23, 1958

Fair in a.m., cloudy and rained in p.m. Lila McKeen  and Callie Gammon called. Dawn Parks. Bill and Evelyn Ridlon in evening. I didn’t do much today. We sent the water away to Augusta for sample. Betty at the fashion show FHA is putting it on. She is a member.

I was busy all day. Bruce been here one week today. Cold and cloudy. Fern to town with Bill and I before supper to shop.

A very nice day, warmer. In forenoon I took up to dahlia bulbs and Gladiolus bulbs, got the plants in for winter. Miss Kalwall came about noon. She will bring the child Friday.

Thursday, October 16, 1958 Lloyd had a shock (mild one)

A very warm day. I churned, cooked. Betty and I got the crib and bassinet ready for the baby. Dolores called, also Dot, Lorraine and Wanda Jean. Billie didn’t get home till late tonight. Lloyd had a bad spell today, is under Dr. care.

Friday, October 17, 1958 Bruce came

A nice day. BRUCE EDWARD HODGKINS came today to live with us. He is four weeks and days old. He came from Maine Medical Center in Portland Maine, a State child. Four weeks six days old. I love him very much.

Saturday, October 18, 1958

This is been a nice day. Baby is cute. We are going to love him. I cooked, done up the housework. Betty home all day. I wrote a letter. Called at Ferns. Delores called.

A nice day. Done up the work. Wrote letters. Billie didn’t do much. Bill worked at the cottage in a.m. in p.m. we called at Lloyds. He is better. I wrote letters.
