Hot. Did regular work. Milan went away for weekends.

Billie worked up to Chet’s haying. Bill helped Kennard
cultivate. Hot. Bill worked in his shop and cleaned it up.
Monday, July 29, 1946
We washed. I went to town with Blanche. In p.m. Dorothea had
birthday party. Smart kids, Muriel Mowatt, Lorraine Smith, Sara Taylor, Joy
Smith, and Aunt Fern. Lot of gifts, ice cream, cake, cookies, tonic, cheez-its,
prizes and good time.
Tuesday, July 30, 1946
Did a big ironing. Cooked a squash pie and pudding. Nice
day.
Wednesday, July 31, 1946
Washed windows, cleaned up the house. Milan began to work
for Les Thomes. Helen Smart called for the p.m.
Thursday, August 1, 1946
Cold and cloudy. Auntie up here and spent the day.
Friday, August 2, 1946
Rainy. Milan, Billie, and Bill didn’t work. Bill puts light
over sink. Milan fixed chairs. Billie put up electric fence.
