The chickens came tonight, from Check – R- Board grain
company at Portland.
Wednesday, June 16, 1954
Cleared off nice today. Got the clothes in and ironed.
Billie and Chet took the bull over to pasture tonight. Esther left Brud and
Verna’s for home tonight. Bill still lame. Bill harrowed the garden over. Got
the other little bull calf from Chet’s tonight.
Thursday, June 17, 1954
Nice day, kind of cool. Betty and I went down to Ferns. Fern
fixed some dresses for Betty. Lost a chicken last night. Bill and Dorothea
harrowed the garden.
Friday, June 18, 1954
Very nice hot day. Kids and I mowed lawns. I washed and
waxed kitchen floor. Billie got a mattress this morning. Barbara telephone from
Boston, on her way home from Wisconsin this morning.
Saturday, June 19, 1954
Hot. Went to town. Planted the garden. Bill quite lame.
Sunday, June 20, 1954
Worked all day as usual.
Monday, June 21, 1954
Nice day, hot. We washed. Betty went down Kail’s.
