May 1 - 7, 1948 Joy Still in Hospital

Saturday, May 1, 1948

Very cold and cloudy. We cleaned up the house and Bill’s father and mother here for supper.

Sunday, May 2, 1948

Windy and fair. Bob, Blanche went to Portland to see Joy. Dorothea went too. Bill’s father and he are trimming the blackberry bushes and trees. Billie hauling manure in Bob’s truck.

Monday, May 3, 1948

Washed. Picked dandelions. Cooked. Bob began on the barn. Fair.

Tuesday, May 4, 1948

Cleaned Auntie’s bedroom. Downtown in eve, over to Bob’s. Mama up to Kennard’s. We all called at Hodgdon’s.

Wednesday, May 5, 1948

Fair. We cleaned Fern’s living room. Bob still here working on barn.

Thursday, May 6, 1948

Very nice day. Cleaned Fern’s dining room. Blanche and Delores to Portland to see Joy.  Phil plowed a little.

Friday, May 7, 1948

Cleaned Fern’s telephone room. Bill worked most all of the day. Bill and I down to Jean’s in eve.
