May 8 - 14, 1948



Saturday, May 8, 1948

Cleaned up the house. Bill and I went to town. Bill didn’t work. Bob finished what he was doing on the barn.



Sunday, May 9, 1948

Bill and Billie planted peas and beans. Bills father and mother here, he trimmed blackberry bushes. Boss cow had a nice heifer calf. Cold. Bob and B (Blanche) went to Portland to see Joy. I got cake for Mother’s Day.



Monday, May 10, 1948

Rained. I washed. Bill worked a half day. Over to Uncle Sulmore’s, downtown. Joy  operated on. Bob began at Kennard’s. Bill went to see Corliss about money.



Tuesday, May 11, 1948

Rained. Finished up at Ferns. Cleaned the back kitchen. Bill or Billie didn’t work. Bill cleaned out cellar, mowed lawns for first time.



 Wednesday, May 12, 1948

Rained and thundershowers. Mama down to Dot P’s. Bill or Billie didn’t work. Bill fixed window boxes.



Thursday, May 13, 1948

I washed. Bill worked. Fair, not much sunshine.



Friday, May 14, 1948

I  got a nice box of chocolates and $10 bill from Fern and Lloyd tonight for helping Fern.
