Another hot day. I churned. Did up the housework.
Saturday, July 2, 1955
Very hot. Went to town in a.m. Washed kitchen and porch
floors. Evelyn called and left four boxes strawberries. Brud and Verna came up
to Kennard’s today. Got Betty’s new dungarees today.
Sunday, July 3, 1955
Lonnie came up today so to go with Johnnie 4th of
July. Very hot. Billie had Chet’s tractor and mowed half the field. Dorothea
came up and stayed all night. Dorothea cut Betty’s hair. Fern, Lloyd and Uncle Os
up in eve. We ate outside.
Monday, July 4, 1955 Independence Day
Very hot again. I washed. Cloudy and a shower in a.m. I went
down to see the parade with Raymond and Aunt Linnie. In p.m. after sun came out
and dried hay, Billie, Bill and Raymond raked and Gordon Sanborn bailed it.
Then Bill, Raymond and Billie got it in. Kale up here tonight.
Tuesday, July 5, 1955
Another very hot day. I washed again today. Did a big
ironing. Bill and Billie helped Raymond get in some hay after supper. Kale went
home today. Betty called on Verna in p.m. Shower in night.
Wednesday, July 6, 1955
Rain today. I cooked. Dorothea, Barb and Nancy called. In
evening Brud and family called also Edgar Hilton and two children.
