A very hot day. Snow went a lot. Bill and I put the mud guard
on car. 70°
Sunday, March 21, 1948
Cloudy and showery. Snow going fast. Billie’s father and Gordon
called. Bill, kids and I went down to Jean’s.
Monday, March 22, 1948
Bill, Jean, Bill’s mother and father went to Portland. A
very hot day. Billie all through it Maple Lane. Snow most all gone. Bill 17
years today.
Tuesday, March 23, 1948
Bill left at 4 AM this morning with Jim to go to Maryland
for plants. Betty and I went to the minstrel that the Girl Scouts put on.
Dorothea was in it. Fern went with us.
Wednesday, March 24, 1948
Very nice hot day. Sat on the piazza. Did a big wash. Got
them dry. Winnered beans. It got cold tonight, awful wind.
Thursday, March 25, 1948
Awful windy. Did a big ironing. Bill came home today, very
tired. Custer Allen came here tonight.

We didn’t do much. I cooked a little. Bill began to rake up
out front.
