They hunted. Bill didn’t work. Ed not very well. Cold.
Dorothea over to Joy’s. We took care of the lard and made sausage.
Sunday, November 30, 1947
Bill and Billie and kids put the wood in celler. Ilan hauled
rocks out of celler. Ed not very good. Bill and I took hams down to Swain. (?)
Monday, December 1, 1947
Moved the washing machine in the a.m. The Jersey went today.
Ralph Leavitt brought shingles. Bill got his new rubbers and pants.
Tuesday, December 2, 1947
Ed sick, in bed all day. Dr. Mabry came to see him. Fern and
Lloyd up in eve. Billie fixed tie up.
Wednesday, December 3, 1947
Ed still very sick. We telephoned Blynn. Dr. Mabry here. I’m
sitting up tonight, he is bad.
Thursday, December 4, 1947
Fernando took Ed to hospital today. He didn’t want to go. I
pitied him so. Blynn came tonight. Cold and windy. I cleaned his room in PM.
Friday, December 5, 1947
Snowed. I washed. Bill took me down to hospital to see Ed. Poor
man. He was a swell person. He died about 9:30 PM. He wanted to come back up here
with me.
