July 19 - 22, 1970 Demings and Ragers Arrive

Sunday, July 19, 1970

A nice day. I done up regular work. Went to the church services on their opening day. I went with Fern, Lloyd, Mr. and Mrs. Downey. In p.m. at Betty and Walt’s for a cookout. Ice cream and cake for Walt’s birthday. Bill and Billie pulled weeds.

Monday, July 20, 1970 Picked a mess of green peas

Bill and Billie back to work. Cloudy, foggy, some sunshine. I picked the first mess of green peas today. Betty and I down town, we looked for some places to rent. Got a call from Esther. They are planning to leave tomorrow night for Maine. Fern and Lloyd called tonight. Walt 42 years today. Billie back to work after two weeks vacation. Bill back after a week off because of lame arm after a fall from the truck.

Tuesday, July 21, 1970

A nice day. I did a big wash. Down to Betty’s for a little while. She mowed her lawns. I took care of the kids. In evening Betty and Walt came up to see Billie about a nice job. Billie and I down to Ferns in evening. Betty and I cleaned Aunt Ava’s house.

Wednesday, July 22, 1970 Demings and Ragers came

A very nice day, sunny and cool. I helped Betty in a.m. and then cleaned up my house late in PM. Came back down to Betty’s at about 1:30 PM. The Demings and Ragers came. Susan came bag and baggage. She is going to live up here. After supper they went looking for apartments. TV went back to Jim’s to be fixed.
