Cold, very cold. Betty still very uncomfortable. We ironed. Dorothea cleaned up the house. Jeff has been full of it today. In evening Betty and Mike gone to doctors in evening. I called at Ferns. Mike and Betty both look so nice all dressed up tonight. Mike and Betty are so happy.

Saturday, January 26, 1963 Billie Deming’s Birthday

Five below this (morning). I cooked. Dorothea cleaned up the house. Betty still having pain. Blanche over here today. Dorothea and I to town and Jeff in PM. Fern up for supper. Betty began her pains real good after supper. Mike and Betty are so happy being together and the baby.

Sunday, January 27, 1963 snow

Bill called out early this morning. Early this morning we took Betty to the hospital. It was about 2 AM. Make stayed with her all night. Dorothea and I washed. Kennie and Dot called. Dorothea and I down to the hospital about six. No baby. We came home. Fern and Lloyd came up and stayed while we were gone. Billie brought home some nice ham.

Monday, January 28, 1963

We done up the work, got the clothes in. It seemed good to Mike to be home. We are also glad. He stayed at the hospital with Betty. In evening Betty came home. No baby.
