Monday, January 21, 1963 MIKE LETTER

It turned very cold today. Washed in PM. Dorothea and I to town in p.m. Betty got a letter from Mike today. It was a letter of???? Betty to the doctors. He gave her good advice.He is going to get Mike home to be with Betty when the baby comes. She felt better when she came home. Letter from Mike.

Tuesday, January 22, 1963

Cold. Betty, Dawn and I to Portland to do some business for Betty towards getting Mike home on a emergency leave. Also we are trying to get him transferred to this East Coast. We are expecting him to come home last of the week. Dr. Richards called up that Mike will arrive in Boston Logan airport at 10:40 tomorrow morning. We are also happy about this. Betty is just overjoyed.

Wednesday, January 23, 1963 MIKE CAME

Dorothea, Jeffrey and I with Barbara went to Logan Airport to meet Mike. He was flown there by A.M.R.C. Emergency leave. With Betty in such a upset condition about not hearing from Mike, the doctor thought it best to come home. They was so pleased to see each other. They seem to have melted in each other’s arms. We were so glad to see him. Is snowed in the morning when we left. Then cleared. We had a very nice day. All bare in Boston, no snow.

Thursday, January 24, 1963

Cold. We are all so glad that Mike is home. And Betty is right out of this world. She is so pleased. I churned, made donuts from Mike. It don’t seem possible Mike is home. We are glad.
