A nice day. I ironed, made pies. Cat is about the same. Didn’t eat very much.

Friday, October 27, 1961

I done up the work, cleaned up the house. To town after supper. Betty to town in evening to the movies. Ma and Pa Kettle. Came home.

Saturday, October 28, 1961

A nice day. I cooked. Betty rode phantom. Billie worked today. Lloyd cut the pig up. Bill wrapped it. Got it into the deep freeze.

Monday, October 30, 1961 Letter from Adair’s

Cloudy. I didn’t wash. I churned, done up the work. Betty got lunch. I wrote letters. I got a nice sweet letter today from my grandson. Jeffrey Dennis Adair. Russians sent a big bomb off today.
