Hot and humid. A very hot humid day. I done up the work, ironed. Susan did the ironing. Susan up to see Linda and Cindy and Nola. We went to town tonight before supper. Betty got a letter from her ex-boyfriend, Mike. He is on his or was on his way to Fort Dix New Jersey. I’m so sorry. I just hope when he returns on his furlough they will make up. They are for each other.

Saturday, July 22, 1961 Hot Hot

I got the work done up. Expected Norma in p.m. To town in p.m. Betty working in a.m. Away after supper. Billie, Susan and I down to Ferns in evening. Norma got here about 11. Betty, Susan and Norma busy, had a good time talking etc. after she came.

Sunday, July 23, 1961 Hot

A nice day, up early. Kennie, Dot here. Lloyd and Charlie Virgin called. I wrote to Esther. Had chicken dinner. Susan enjoying Norma Gay. Betty didn’t work.
