July 17 - 20, 1961



Monday, July 17, 1961

Cloudy in a.m. Cleared early in p.m. And hot. Clothes dried good. Susan over to Verna’s swimming with Phyllis and girls. . Betty and Rowena here in p.m. Also Irene’s three kids. Mowed lawns. Betty and Rowena did. In evening Carlton and girls called. Sent a letter to DOROTHEA. Put cows in pasture for first time.



Tuesday, July 18, 1961

Foggy in a.m. I ironed, washed a few buggy windows. It cleared off, very hot all day. Verna and Phyllis and children all came for a little while. Aunt Ava called. Betty and Rowena came up in p.m. Betty rode horse. They came back for supper and took off for movies.










Wednesday, July 19, 1961 Hot Hot

A beautiful day here. Susan and I took a walk up to the corner to see the boys working on their place. A very nice day. I didn’t do much in evening. Susan and I called at Linscotts and I called on Lida Brackett. A very hot day. Betty looking for a letter from Mike.



Thursday, July 20, 1961

A very hot day. They finished tarring this road. I washed, clothes dried good. Susan down to Ferns in p.m. In p.m. Billie took Mama, Betty and I over to see where the terrible truck crash at Frank Evans. Called at Ed Larrabee’s to see a Hereford. In evening Rowena here, she and Betty gone up to Irene’s. Bill, Susan and I played croquet.
