September 23 - 26, 1959 New Job For Bill



Wednesday, September 23, 1959

A very nice day. I cooked, got a boiled dinner ready to cooking for supper. Bill and I to town before supper. Tonight Fern, Lloyd, Mr. Yates, Billie and I all went over to Lovell to Joe Trues to get the pullets 18. At a $1.75 each. As we was eating supper tonight Frank Harman called to tell Bill to come into the transmission company to work. He begins tomorrow. Got PULLETS.



Thursday, September 24, 1959

Very warm. A nice day very warm and sunny. I washed, cleaned up the chambers. Bill went to WORK today at the PORTLAND TRANSMISSION company here in Bridgton. A steady job. We are so glad about this. Tonight Sally, Gordon, two girls and Mrs. Porter called. Betty up to Irene’s in evening.



Friday, September 25, 1959

A beautiful day. Mama up to Waterford with Aunt Ava and Uncle Lewis. I cleaned up the downstairs, churned. Dolores called. In p.m. Betty and Irene called. Betty babysitting for Irene this weekend. Bill to work again for town after supper tonight. Bill got fuel pump for car and ordered two tires for car. Betty up to Irene’s this weekend to babysit.



Saturday, September 26, 1959

A very nice day. Vincent Yates had a fatal heart attack this morning early. It was so sudden. I cooked, ironed. Bill home in early p.m. He put a new fuel pump in the car. Billie took the fence down and put the cows back into regular pasture.
