Tuesday, December 3, 1957 Oil Came

A nice day, cold and windy. Bill and Kennard down to (?) Rossie’s looking for work. I churned and ironed in p.m. Dolores called. Donnie’s new clothes came today. Betty and Holly skating after school. Oil man came today. I called over to Aunt Linnie’s in evening.

Wednesday, December 4, 1957

US Sputnick is expected to be launched today. But it was not. I cooked in a.m., in p.m. I went up to Dolores and she sewed the tags on Donnie’s clothes. Bill and Kennard went to Norway to look for work. Bill may get work next week.

Thursday, December 5, 1957

Cold. I churned, cleaned up the house today. In forenoon Mrs. Ayres called to say they will call for Donnie Monday, December 9. Betty up to Steve’s birthday party in evening. Kennard and Bill began cutting Christmas trees today. Cut 100.

Friday, December 6, 1957 Cold

Bill and Billie had hard work starting their cars. Bill and Kennard over to Norway and back to cutting more Christmas trees. US satellite exploded before it left the ground at the Florida satellite (?) grounds.
